NYU MBA Eligibility
Undergraduate Degree: Students entering a Stern MBA program are required to hold a four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in the U.S. or an equivalent degree from a foreign country (in some cases, this is a three-year degree)
Mastery of English: Please review the standardized test section to determine if you are required to take the TOEFL, IELTS, or DET exam

NYU MBA Deadlines
NYU Stern evaluates all MBA applications using the same criteria, regardless of the deadline by which they are submitted. Deadlines are set to provide applicants with a clear timeline for when to expect an initial decision. However, Stern reviews applications on a rolling basis and does not wait for deadlines to begin the review process. Applicants are encouraged to submit their application as soon as it is complete and represents their strongest candidacy. Note that deadlines and timelines may differ for Dual Degree and Consortium applicants.

You can check the status of your application at any time on your application status page. Your application status page indicates any missing application requirements, and you are able to upload outstanding or supplemental materials directly to this page.
You will receive an email confirmation once you have submitted your application. Your application will not be processed until your application fee has been received.
Initial notifications will begin shortly after the first application deadline and continue on an ongoing basis.

NYU MBA Interviews
Interviews and Post-Interview Decision
Interviews are available by invitation only. You will be able to schedule your interview via your application status page. Interviews are conducted by our trained admissions professionals, who will have thoroughly read your entire application. At this time, all interviews are being conducted virtually.
NYU MBA Post-Interview Decision
After the interview, it will typically take up to three weeks to receive a post-interview decision. There are three possible post-interview decisions:

NYU MBA Offer of Admission
If offered admission, you will view an online admission letter on your application status page. If you have been awarded any scholarships, that information will be part of your admission letter. In addition, you will be given access to our Admitted Student Website.
NYU MBA Waitlist Offer
In our admissions process, you may be placed on the waitlist without being interviewed and/or after being interviewed. If you are placed on the waitlist, you will receive additional information about the waitlist process at that time.
All decisions made by the Admissions Committee are final.

Use the “Add Position” function to list all full-time, post-university roles. Internships and part-time work may also be included.
NYU MBA Essays
Stern’s essay questions are designed to allow applicants to present themselves more fully to the Admissions Committee, offering insight into their experiences, goals, and perspectives.
Essays must be entirely self-written. Any offer of admission will be rescinded if the essays are found not to be the applicant’s own work.
NYU MBA EQ Endorsements
NYU MBA International Student Supplement
All non-U.S. citizens, including non-resident aliens (F, J, or trainee visa holders) and foreign government officials, must complete the International Student Supplement. U.S. Permanent Residents are exempt.
The supplement includes two sections:
Visa Status:
Applicants currently in the U.S. must indicate their visa type and sponsor name.
Permanent Foreign Address:
All non-U.S. citizens must provide a permanent international address (not a P.O. box), even if it differs from the mailing address listed in the application. This is required for SEVIS compliance.
Completion of this form does not impact admission decisions.

Around 20–25% of admitted full-time two-year MBA students at Stern receive a merit-based scholarship.
Most scholarships are full or half tuition awards.
All applicants, domestic and international, are automatically considered—no extra materials are needed.
Scholarship decisions are made during admission and are final.
Award types and amounts may vary each year.

NYU MBA Donor Awards for Second-Year Students
Through the generous support of alumni and friends of NYU Stern, students have another opportunity to receive funding in their second year of the MBA program. All students are considered for second-year awards based on merit and the criteria specified by the donor. No application is necessary.

NYU MBA Teaching & Graduate Fellowships
MBA students at NYU Stern can earn up to $31,200 in tuition remission by working as Teaching Fellows (TF) or Graduate Fellows (GF). These roles allow students to support the school and enhance their peers’ learning experience. Each year, hundreds of TF and GF positions are filled by Stern students.

To be eligible, students must have completed at least 9 credits at Stern and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
NYU MBA Loan Programs
Domestic Students – Federal and Private Loans
U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents are eligible for federal loans. They also have the option to apply for private loans.
Federal Loans
U.S. citizens and permanent residents can apply for federal unsubsidized loans ($10,250/semester) and Graduate PLUS loans to cover the full cost of attendance.
Unsubsidized Loan: 7.94% interest, 1.057% origination fee.
Graduate PLUS Loan: 8.94% interest, 4.228% origination fee.Students must submit the FAFSA, preferably by May of the year they plan to start.
Private Loans
Available to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Stern provides a list of commonly used lenders on its Financial Aid website.
International Students – Private Loans
International students may be eligible to receive private student loans with and/or without a U.S. co-signer.
NYU Stern Loan Assistance Program
NYU Stern, in partnership with its Social Enterprise Association MBA club, offers a Loan Assistance Program to support graduates pursuing lower-paying careers in social enterprise. The program helps ease the burden of repaying business school loans and reflects Stern’s mission to develop leaders who create value for business and society.
Eligible MBA alumni can apply annually within ten years of graduation. Awards are determined by the Stern Graduate Financial Aid Office, based on available funds. The program may be modified or discontinued at any time. Full details, including deadlines and eligibility, are available on the Stern Graduate Financial Aid website.
