Summer | Internship
May - July
You will gain valuable work experience and the opportunity to apply theory learned in class through an internship in Germany or abroad. The Career Center supports you in finding an internship position via a broad range of activities such as individual career counseling, workshops, and company presentations.
Quarter 1 & 2 | Semester Abroad
September - December
The Master in Management Program also includes a semester abroad at one of WHU's 200 partner universities worldwide. During the semester abroad, you will gain a global perspective and immerse yourself in another culture.

Quarter 3 & 4 | Thesis
January - May
The Master thesis concludes your studies, providing you the opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge you have gained throughout the course of the Master Program. While writing your thesis, you will be supervised by a WHU faculty member. You may also write your thesis in collaboration with a company.

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
For our Master in Management Program, we seek recent Bachelor graduates with a degree in business or economics.
If you have not received your Bachelor’s degree yet, it is possible to apply with your current transcript of records. Please include a document that indicates all courses that are not included in the transcript that you are currently taking, or plan to take in the future.
Please note that we only accept applicants who hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with at least 180 ECTS. If you graduated outside of Germany, your university should be listed as “H+” at Anabin, which means that the institution is seen as equivalent to a German institute of higher education.
GMAT/GRE/GTEBS
Please submit one of the following test scores:
GMAT: Minimum score 555 - WHU Code: FBR-FH-93 (GMAT 10th Edition: Minimum 600)
GRE: Minimum score 158 Verbal and 158 Quantitative - WHU Code: 7175
GTEBS (formerly TM-WISO): Minimum score 102 (must be taken in English)

Candidates may apply without official GMAT or GRE scores. If you successfully complete the WHU Admissions Process without them, you will receive a conditional study offer. This offer will become unconditional once you submit the required score.
If you are interested in our Double Degree Programs, please be aware that our partner universities might only accept the GMAT.
English Proficiency (TOEFL/IELTS)
You should submit any one of the following test scores:
TOEFL iBT test with an overall score of at least 100 (WHU Code: 0682)
IELTS (academic) with an overall score of at least 7.0
* We also accept the TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition that you can take online
Proof of English proficiency is not required if your first language is English, or your Bachelor program was completed entirely in English. In this case, proof from your university is required.
Candidates can also apply without the TOEFL/IELTS official scores. If you successfully complete the WHU admissions process without your TOEFL/IELTS, you will receive a conditional study offer. This offer will become unconditional upon submitting the required score.
Practical Experience of at least three months and up to two years
You should have at least 12 weeks (480 hours) of practical experience in a business-related role. This can be completed before the beginning of your studies with WHU. This program is only open to candidates with a maximum of two years of post-graduate work experience.
You can submit internship certificates or a letter from HR, which include your name, start and end date, your title, and a short description of your duties and responsibilities. The document should be issued on official company stationery, with a stamp and signature.
International Experience
Internationality is a key value at WHU so international experience adds strength to every application. While it is not a mandatory requirement for our Master in Management, we still recommend gaining some form of international experience. As international experience, we consider an internship or study semester abroad, languages courses, a summer school, or equivalent.
3 steps to your study offer

You will need to fill out various fields and upload all required supporting documents. Detailed information about our admission requirements is above.
Please note: you do not have to complete the online application all at once. Take a break at any time during the application process, save the information you have entered, and come back to it later.
Complete a video interview
After your online application has been reviewed, qualified candidates will be invited to complete a video interview on Kira Talent – an online platform via which we ask you interview questions, and you record yourself answering them.
Once you receive the invitation, you will have one week to complete the interview at a time that is convenient for you.
Please note: you should schedule 45 minutes for the interview. Once you start, it is not possible to pause or take breaks.
Take part in personal interview
After your Kira interview has been reviewed, promising candidates will be invited to a personal interview. This is the final step in the admissions process and will take place entirely online.
The Master of Science Team will extend a study offer to outstanding candidates a few days after the final interview.
