Curriculum
The intensive grounding in management provided over this 12-month course is reflected in the breadth and depth of the twelve core modules, equipping students with:
insight into current management thinking and perspectives

Students take 4 core modules in the Autumn and Summer Trimesters. In the Spring Trimester students take 3 core modules and 1 option module. Registration for summer modules takes place in March.

Please include an updated CV detailing all relevant work experience and extra-curricular activity. It is useful to demonstrate leadership skills.
English language test
If English is not your first language, an English language qualification is required for admission to all of our programmes. Step 2: The Application Process
Once you have collated the required documentation and reviewed the entry requirements for your programme of interest, you can now apply online.
Apply online
You must apply online using our dedicated application portal. You will be required to enter contact details, upload your documents and answer two essay questions (each approximately 300 words). We would ask that you seriously consider both essays and answer these in the context of the programme you are applying to. Try to not replicate your CV and demonstrate what makes you different from other applicants. There are no right or wrong ways to complete these essays.
Application Deadlines:Applications are assessed on a rolling basis and courses will close once they are filled. We advise you to apply as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Please note certain scholarships may require you to apply before a certain date – please refer to our scholarship page here. Application fee
You will then be asked to submit your application and pay the €60 application fee. No application can be assessed until the fee has been paid. You can apply for multiple programmes with the one application fee, but please be sure to mark your preferred course.
UCD Students and Alumni who have completed a full-time degree with UCD can apply to UCD Smurfit programmes with no application fee charge.
Application review
Once submitted, it usually takes 2-3 weeks before a decision is made on fully completed applications. This time period can sometimes be longer and can vary at different times in the year and in different regions. We may offer you a conditional place based on the completion of a number of criteria, such as degree, English test, or another qualification.
This reserves you a place on the course and once you have fulfilled this criteria we will issue you a full offer.
Deposit
Acceptance is completed by paying a non-refundable deposit (varies from either €750 to €2000 depending on the programme. Most of our programmes require a €750 deposit with the exception of the MSc in Business Analytics which requires a €1,500 deposit and our MBA programmes which require a €2,000 deposit).
Your offer email will detail the exact deposit amount required. Once you have accepted you will then be supported by the Programme Office who will contact you with further course and start details.

Please review the entry requirements below. The UCD Smurfit Admissions Office staff have expertise in reviewing international qualifications from around the world and will be able to assess your application's comparability to the Irish entry requirement.
You must have a minimum second-class honours degree (or equivalent). Applications are invited from graduates with non-business primary degrees keen to pursue a career in business or those who wish to obtain a business qualification. |

Scholarships
UCD Scholarships offer a life-changing opportunity to prospective students. By offering merit-based scholarships, they recruit the highest quality students from across the world; while financial needs based scholarships put an MBA or Masters within reach for a number of ambitious students each year. Smurfit Scholarships are in high demand and there is significant competition each year.
How to apply:
In most cases, students do not need to make a separate scholarship application. All successful programme applicants will automatically be considered for scholarships once they meet the eligibility criteria and the application is received before the scholarship closing date (see exceptions below). Note that scholarships are granted on a rolling basis, therefore we strongly encourage early application.
Exceptions include: Aspire Scholarships, Bord Bia Scholarships, Equity Inclusion & Diversity Scholarship, UCD CSC Scholarship, UCD Sports Scholarship and the Indian Academic Excellence Scholarship - all of which involve a separate scholarship application process. The UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School-Shaw Scholarship for Educational Advancement and Empowerment will be awarded to one student from the USA who has been accepted on the MSc or MBA Programme at UCD Smurfit School and who is in financial need and requires support to complete their Masters. The scholar will receive up to $35,000 of a bursary towards the tuition on a full-time Master’s or MBA programme.

UCD alumni can avail of a 5% tuition reduction at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School for Masters and MBA programmes commencing in the academic year 2020/2021 onwards. The 5% tuition discount is available to all UCD alumni who have completed a full-time degree.

Scholarship Notice
Students can apply for multiple scholarships, but can only accept one; scholarship amounts cannot be combined.
If awarded more than one, the higher-value scholarship will be granted. Scholarships cannot be transferred between programs.
Scholarships are valid only for the year of admission and cannot be deferred to a later academic year.
Students receiving a SUSI grant are not eligible for UCD Smurfit scholarships.
Scholarships are not available for UCD Executive Development, UCD Belfield campus, or joint programs like MSc in Biotechnology & Business, Biotherapeutics & Business, and International Law & Business.
FAQ's
What scholarships are available for the UCD MSc in Management (MiM) program?
