Manchester Alliance MIM Course Details
Coursework and assessment
Assessment across the course units varies, and includes a combination of examinations, course work, report and group project assessment and presentations.
During the third semester students undertake a business project as part of their final assessment.
Manchester Alliance MIM Course unit details
The MSc Management programme comprises a total of 180 credits.
In Semester 1, students complete four core modules, amounting to 60 credits, covering foundational aspects of management.
In Semester 2, students select four elective modules from a pool of six options, earning an additional 60 credits. These electives allow students to tailor the programme to their interests and career goals.
Semester 3 consists of two compulsory modules:
A 15-credit taught module.
A 45-credit Business Research Project, combining individual and group work.
This project enables students to apply their learning to real-world business challenges, develop their problem-solving and analytical skills, and demonstrate their capabilities in management and research.

Academic entry qualification overview
Applicants are required to hold a First or Upper Second Class Honours degree (2:1, with a 60% average) from a UK university or an equivalent qualification from an overseas institution.
This MSc programme offers a fast-track route into the business world for individuals without prior experience, covering all core areas of management including entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, and human resources.
When evaluating academic qualifications, consideration is given to the applicant’s overall grade average, class ranking, and the reputation of the institution where the degree was obtained.
English language

English language test validity
Some English Language test results are only valid for two years. Your English Language test report must be valid on the start date of the course.

Manchester Alliance MIM Application
NOTE: There is a non-refundable application fee of £60. You should be prompted to pay this within the application portal before you can submit your application. Your application cannot be considered until you have paid the application fee.

Advice to applicants
The statement of purpose should address the following areas:
An explanation of the applicant’s interest in the MSc Management programme at Alliance Manchester Business School and how the course aligns with their future goals and aspirations.
A description of what makes the applicant an exceptional candidate, including their strengths, experiences, and potential contributions to all aspects of the programme.
How your application is considered
Your application can only be processed with the following documents:
valid English language qualification
first and second year transcript (scanned copies are accepted at the time of application)
statement of purpose (this is included as part of your application form, you do not need to email your statement of purpose directly to the Admissions Team)
Manchester Alliance MIM Deferrals
To defer your offer to the following year, you must contact your admission officer to get a copy of the deferral form. You can only defer your offer for one year.
Manchester Alliance MIM Re-applications
Applicants who were unsuccessful in a previous year are welcome to reapply. Each new application will be assessed against the standard entry criteria applicable for that year. The new application should clearly demonstrate how the applicant has strengthened or improved their profile since the last submission. When evaluating suitability for the programme, the University may also consider information from previous applications or any prior enrolments at the University.

Manchester Alliance MIM Fees
For entry in the academic year beginning September 2025, the tuition fees are as follows:
MSc (full-time)
UK students (per annum): £19,000
International, including EU, students (per annum): £31,500

The fees quoted above will be fully inclusive for the course tuition, administration and computational costs during your studies.
Manchester Alliance MIM Refund Policy
Due to high demand and limited availability, a non-refundable deposit of £1,000 is required to secure a place on the programme. This deposit covers non-recoverable costs and will be deducted from the tuition fees upon registration.
The deposit is non-refundable except in the following circumstances:
The applicant fails to meet the conditions of their offer.
The applicant is refused a visa or entry clearance to enter the UK (subject to submission of valid proof).
If the offer includes an English Language condition, the Admissions Team will require an official certificate from an English Language test taken after the date of the offer as evidence that the applicant attempted to meet the condition. Test results submitted with the original application will not be accepted as they predate the offer.
If the offer includes an academic condition, the applicant must provide official documentation from the awarding institution confirming that the condition has not been met, for a refund to be considered.
The Admissions Team reserves the right to refuse any refund requests that do not comply with the above requirements.
Manchester Alliance MIM Policy On Additional Costs
All students are generally expected to complete their programme of study without incurring additional costs beyond the standard tuition fees. Any unavoidable and compulsory additional costs exceeding 1% of the annual home undergraduate fee per year—regardless of the programme—will be clearly communicated in advance.Further information can be found in the University's Policy on additional costs incurred by students on undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes
