After completing the core, students can choose from a wide range of electives to tailor their learning based on career interests and goals—whether it’s entrepreneurship, data analytics, consulting, or global strategy.

Note - Regardless of waivers or course load, you’re required to register for six terms of full-time study and complete a minimum of 20.5 credits.

At Kellogg, you can shape your MBA your way. There are 8 majors to choose from, like marketing, strategy, or finance , but you don’t have to pick one if you prefer a broader learning path. This flexible system lets you focus on what matters most for your career goals

Majors include Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management Analytics, Managing Organizations, Marketing, Operations, and Strategy. A major requires that a student complete the core course for the major and a minimum of four electives
If you don’t choose a major, your MBA will be listed as General Management on your transcript
Besides majors, Kellogg offers “pathways” — these are special course tracks focused on trending skills and industries (like data, healthcare, or entrepreneurship)

Work Experience Requirement
During the summer between the first and second year, all Two-Year MBA students must complete a 6–12 week internship. This hands-on experience is part of the graduation requirement and helps students apply what they’ve learned in real-world settings related to their career goals.
