International Experience
Term abroad
HHL emphasizes the development of international competencies, recognizing their importance for future managers, consultants, entrepreneurs, and executives in a globalized world. Through strong global partnerships, HHL offers students the opportunity to spend a term abroad at one of 140 partner universities in cities such as New York, Paris, Lima, Oslo, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Sydney. The HHL team provides comprehensive support before, during, and after the exchange, helping students gain new cultural insights and expand their global network.
Double degree options
HHL offers students the opportunity to earn an additional degree from one of its international partner universities. This option complements the term abroad and allows students to further enhance their academic and professional profile with a second qualification. There's no need to decide immediately, and the HHL team is available to provide guidance and support throughout the process.
HHL MIM Admissions
HHL invites applicants to take the first step in the admissions process even without submitting the HHL Entry Test or GMAT. The selection process goes beyond academic metrics, considering not just bachelor’s grades or test scores, but also the candidate’s personality, motivation, and ambition. The goal is to build a driven, collegial student community of future leaders.

November 30: Early Bird 1 – Discount: EUR 4,500 (Admission test* can be submitted until Jan 31)
January 31: Early Bird 2 – Discount: EUR 3,000 (Admission test* can be submitted until March 31)
March 31: Early Bird 3 – Discount: EUR 1,500 (Admission test* can be submitted until June 30)
May 31: final deadline for international (non-EU) applicants (Admission test* can be submitted until August 15)
June 30: final deadline for EU applicants and non-EU applicants not requiring a visa to Germany (Admission test* can be submitted until August 15)

Admission criteria
Master in Management (General & Finance Track):
Bachelor degree in Business Administration or other business-related programs, e.g. Business Informatics, Business Psychology, Business Law, Economics, Industrial Engineering etc. (with a minimum of 180 credits, of which 40 – 60 credits in business-related subjects)
Above average academic performance during both high school (Abitur) and Bachelor degree
A competitive GMAT/GRE/HHL Entry Test
A minimum TOEFL score of 90 (or IELTS of 7.0) or a Bachelor degree completed in English
3 or more months of professional experience by the program’s start date

*In order to receive the early bird discount, you must have submitted your application by the above deadlines, as well as submit all missing documents and tests (including GMAT/GRE or HHL Entry Test) and successfully pass the HHL admissions interview until January 31 (Early Bird 1), March 31 (Early Bird 2) or June 30 (Early Bird 3).
Admission interview
After you have submitted your application online and your eligibility for the program has been confirmed, you will be invited to an interview with an HHL professor. Your timeslot will be arranged individually with you to best suit your personal schedule. The interview will take place virtually or – if you would like to take the opportunity to visit HHL – on-site.
The admission interview usually takes 1 hour and consists of two parts:
Personal interview (35 min)
The competencies focused on during the interview are:
Problem-solving abilities (analytical abilities, structuring, flexibility, creativity, business understanding)
Personality (ability to work in a team, maturity, self-confidence, communication skills)
Leadership potential (leadership ability, motivation and energy, profit orientation)
Presentation and discussion (15 min + 10 min)
For the presentation, you will receive a topic two days before the interview takes place.
The following aspects will be evaluated:
Presentation (problem identification, outline and structure, synthesis ability, creativity and originality)
Discussion (assessment ability, argumentation, critical faculty)
Personality (appearance, theoretical ability, self-confidence)
After a successful interview, your complete application will be discussed by the HHL MIM admissions committee. You will be informed about the decision approximately 7-10 days after the interview.
HHL MIM Tuition Fees & Financing Options
Tuition fees
The total tuition fee for the HHL Master in Management program is EUR 37,500. This amount includes all tuition and examination costs, as well as fees for the term abroad at one of HHL's partner universities. Payment is flexible, divided into four installments across two years.
Applicants can benefit from Early Bird discounts by submitting their complete application by the following deadlines:
Early Bird 1 (Nov 30): EUR 4,500 discount
Early Bird 2 (Jan 31): EUR 3,000 discount
Early Bird 3 (Mar 31): EUR 1,500 discount
To qualify, applicants must submit all documents and tests (including GMAT/GRE or HHL Entry Test) and complete the admissions interview by the respective deadlines.
Additionally, tuition fees are tax-deductible in Germany as anticipated income-related expenses. Applicants are encouraged to consult their tax advisor for details.
