Program Format
The Duke MMS program is a 10-month business course designed to give you a strong foundation in all key areas of business—like finance, marketing, strategy, and operations. It’s perfect if you're just starting your career and want to explore different industries or roles
You’ll join an international group of peers and take part in classes, team projects, and hands-on experiences that push you to grow, take initiative, and build the skills needed to succeed in the business world
The program begins in mid-July in Durham, North Carolina, with a special launch experience and helpful workshops to get you ready for what’s ahead. It’s also your first chance to connect with your classmates and learning team
After that, the program is divided into five short terms, each lasting 6 weeks. In under a year, you’ll be ready to start your career in fields like finance, marketing, consulting, or general management

Team-Based Learning
One thing that makes the Duke MMS program stand out is its team-based structure. You’ll work in a small group of 4–6 students, carefully selected to bring together diverse backgrounds and perspectives.Just like in the corporate world, you’ll learn how to collaborate, solve problems, and grow through teamwork. It’s not just about books—you’ll gain real-life skills by learning from each other.
Team structure
Over five terms you’ll complete 15 courses: six in accounting, economics, and finance; two in analytics and critical thinking; two in communication and leadership; and five in markets, strategy, and management. You’ll take multiple subjects each term, with each class meeting twice a week for 2 hours and 15 minutes. Here is a sample structure:

The Fuqua MMS curriculum gives you a solid foundation in all key areas of business—accounting, finance, economics, marketing, strategy, operations, management, and decision science.
